A strong affinity to colour and a love of creating special things from yarn led to the birth of Yellow Van Yarns.
The places we have travelled to, the people we have met all add to the inspiration that comes from my Filipino heritage and the countryside where I live

All my yarn is hand dyed in a smoke-free, cat-friendly environment. We cannot be held responsible for any effect from serious allergies.
My yarn will arrive in a skein form and should be wound into a cake or ball in order to use. Attempting to knit or crochet directly from the hank will result in a big tangle!
The nature of hand dyed yarn is in it’s variation from skein to skein, this is expected and not a defect. We recommend buying all the yarn you may need for a project at the same time as any future batches may turn out a little differently. If you are using multiple skeins for a single project, we recommend striping alternate rows from different skeins to reduce the likelihood of colour pooling, (unless of course that's the effect you are going for ).
Whilst the dye is ‘fixed’ to the yarn during the dyeing process, as well as thoroughly rinsed afterwards, a small amount of colour bleeding is possible. I use a eco friendly, hypo-allergenic wool wash to rinse my yarn off in. I highly recommend that you hand wash your finished projects in cold water and separately for the first few washes.
All of our yarn is mulesing free.
If there is a particular base that you would like to use that we do not provide, please get in touch and I can source something just for you.
Any yarn which is referred to as being “superwash” has been through a treatment process to make the wool fibres more resistant to shrinking. There were concerns in years gone by about the content of water being discharged and its recyclability from this process. However, all of our superwash yarns are treated in highly regulated plants in the UK and Europe, any water discharged has been recycled and is actually better than tap water.
If you would like to know about this process, please contact me.
